Where does our 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham come from?
Our 100% Iberian acorn-fed black label ham comes from 100% Iberian breed pigs reared in the wild in the best holm oak pastures.
Pigs that have been fed on acorns, herbsother fruits of the field during the montanera period.
We call montanera the period of time between the months of OctoberMarch approximately, the time of the year in which the ripening of this fruit takes placethe final phase of the rearing of the 100% Iberian acorn-fed pig takes place.
During this period of time, the 100% acorn-fed Iberian pig puts on weight quicklyrapidly, which is why, once this phase is over, it is slaughtered.
